We have finally finished the shooting of the fourth music video. And this was done for the fabulous band called Coredust to their song Without Disguise. Check out some pictures from yesterday when the thing was put into the camera…

This video has been in the planning stage for about 2 months now, and yesterday every idea and concept was finally realized. Although I had expected several misunderstandings and difficulties, like always when doing a project of this size, we encountered about none. And this is actually true – everything went according to the plan – well almost, but still maybe 95% percent. And this was all good news… We spent a good 12 hours in the company of about 18 people, all the extras are missing on the pic above…

I have never pulled off a music video project of this size, and I can’t believe we did it without any difficulties – and with a good result also! When we glanced through the raw material we came to the conclusion that we had succeed. Bloody fantastic. We shot the whole thing with my 5D Mark II using three different lenses, some tripods and a video crane – which was awesome and will be used in all of our upcoming projects, and that’s the truth, we can’t live without the thing anymore! Video crane for the win baby!

And yes, all of the shots in this blog post were shot with Ramedus’ camera Nikon D90, I don’t know exactly who took them, but I guess it was Ramedus, Andy Maplefield and Magnum W.

We even had the pleasure of working with some great extras this day. Even the drummer from Children of Bodom, Jaska Raatikainen, showed up! The pic above displays Jaska and Juuso during a beer-ordering-extras-take. An enormous thanks goes out to these guys – you were great!

Among the other extras were two dancers from Tampere called Tiia Räikkä and Tara Nyman, the car driver Mika from Kovanen car rentals and Pasi Luoma as “the big guy”…

The video was and is directed by Tage, shot by Ramedus, craned by Magnum, lit and “technicated” by Andy, make-up by Sara and what more.. But of course, acted out by the very cool dudes in Coredust. It’ll later be edited by Tage and Ramedus at the Ramedus offices and we’ll probably get some grading expertise from the great Andy “Anders Lönnfeldt” Maplefield.

And probably the most gigantic thank you’s of them all goes out to Painobaari in Helsinki and it’s owner Wequ for all their assistance and help during this whole process! Thank you very very much! ( www.painobaari.fi ).

But obviously there has to be some disturbing news also.. The video will not be uploaded or shown anywhere until the beginning of June 2010. This is all because of the following facts – we are gonna arrange a public viewing for the video at Painobaari where it all went down yesterday. During this premier evening Coredust will perform a whole set and the video will be screened three times. Why not earlier you say? ..Cause the bar was not available any sooner during the weekends. That’s why. But at least we will have something to look forward to for the next 2 months!

It is a somewhat larger music video project than before, with a bit more thinking to do, and a bit more people to deal with. It’ll be kinda like a short film or so, and done to a very different type of music genre than my dear readers could imagine, I believe. I dear not speak of the genre in order to not disappoint any jazzy cops. I’m really excited and I’m looking forward with globe-like gazing eyes to realizing this opportunity.

The video will be produced, as always, by Tage Rönnqvist Media Productions and Ramedus in yet another teaming up, and ofcourse, with great help from the utterly distinct lightmaster-gaffer Anders Lönnfeldt. The video is still in the first of many planning stages and I will update you guys as soon as I get more on paper and generally more info on this upcoming coolness – at least I’ll give you the band name, the video will be done to and for the band called Coredust.

Today was a big day for Tage Rönnqvist Media Productions, well I’m not sure about the “big day” part, but at least it was a day ok.. A-ok? Day ok? Any rhymes wackos, the rime of the ancient mariner? No nothing? I’ll just continue then.. Stupid.

Me and the media mogul Rasmus Tåg decided to have a pottering day, sort of an activities group’s day out. Yes. Since we are making a music video for The Cajunga this Thursday we have to make some props and decorations, so today was the prop day and we prepared t-shirts for the vocalist.

It may sound kinda corny, but the lead singer is gonna have to change clothes during the chorus, so we have to custom make the tank tops for this song, so it’ll fit the lyrics in a very Bob Dylan type of way. Sadly I won’t post any pics of the finished tops since we don’t wanna spoil any surprises before the video has been shot and edited. But I’ll give you a shot of Ramedus editing (can you say edit when you mean cutting with scissors through a plain paper?) some heart-shaped super ideas!

So just a few hours ago the tank tops were considered ready for the video shoot. And since me and Rasmus are professionals in using fabric paint, the result was just God-like. I smell disbelief in the reader, you schmuck! Hopefully the tops will fit the video so it won’t be “tack ska du ha men skit ska du få”.

And yes, the headline talks about a competition! YES. Here goes:

Of all the stains left over from the fabric paint I made an arty painting, that’s right, an original Tage “Shooting for the Stars” painting. And this can be yours! All you have to do is to hit me with a comment on this blog insert and you have officially entered the competition. During the upcoming Friday night I will have a small lottery for myself, sad man, and one happy winner is selected among you guys who have hit me with a comment by then. The painting will be sent to you by regular mail next week so you’ll at least get it before Christmas. (When you give the comment, use a mail address that works and I’ll contact the winner by mail).. The painting looks like this, and it has an estimated value of 75,00€ And it’s signed and everything, and who wouldn’t wanna brag to his or her friends with this one?

// Tage – The Competition Master and a very good painter aswell… Jeez.

After months and years, and even weeks of wanting to manage a giant media empire, I have finally managed to fill in the forms so that I could become a sole trader, now what this means is that I now officially can arrange office parties, and that even you can do an internship at my firm, so c’mon, request are granted, we can watch movies and take pics of cats and dogs, and it’ll be your job! Think of the chances, ah, screw this.

Seriously, the good part is that I now can send bills, and that’s about it. But if you’re really looking for an internship or an office christmas party, no, just kiddin’. But practically it would be possible.

Tomorrow or the next day, I’ll try to renew my blog in a weird way, a story with pics, a story of something you haven’t seen before, perhaps, depends on what you’ve seen, obviously, hopefully, lots of commas, gotta love fucking commas, SORRY, FORGOT THE CAPS LOCK, some news that more than 2 and a half people would like to read about, but more of that tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, or whatever suits you. And yes, almost forgot, my firm is called Tage Rönnqvist Media Productions, kinda catchy name wouldn’t you say! It really hits the spot.

PS. Minutes ago I caught the movie “Nothing but the truth” with Kate Beckinsale, but I haven’t got the strengt or the right vibe to review it. But in one sentence, a movie about a woman who likes principles, great direction, cool camera work, all-in-all, 4 out of 5 principles.
