My journey filming the Sturm und Drang documentary continued today. I spent some time collecting brand new footage of Joel Wendlin, the Sturm bass virtuoso, as well as an interview with the manager Patrick Linman.

I’m hangin’ back in Wasa for a week or so focusing on shooting new stuff for the film about Sturm und Drang once again – it’s been some months since I shot my last frame, but now I’m back in the game again, feels great.

Today my focus was to get new interviews with André Linman. Had a great time and we really nailed some nice shit. Here you go, a shot from today’s session at their rehearsal camp – André in action.

I take it you Sturm fans already saw the awesome news on their facebook site, the third record is nearly finished – swell news! Don’t know any release date for the first single yet, but I promise you it’s gonna be a good one alright. Definitely worth the wait!

Tomorrow I’m in for more of the Sturm, wish me luck!

// Tage – Sturm Tage

All of a sudden I drove to Wasa for a pack of Eva Lingon tasks.

However, this very evening I had the pleasure to visit the Sturm und Drang rehearsal spaces in the vast forests of Wasa.

My task was to grab a few shots of Joel Wendlin, and his brand new bass guitars, for Musamaailma and Spector basses. We had a fun session and the shots will be here on display in a few jiffies. Meanwhile, smell a moment from the Drang camp if you please!

And let me tell you, the Sturm und Drang machinery is moving forward step by rockin’ step. A third record is in production alright, expect awesome. Until then.

// Tage – Camp Tage

So, today I attended the Musik & Talang 2011 forum in Wasa at Hotel Central, it was a very pleasant experience and my workshop together with Lasse Norrgård went great. And hey, there were acctually several attendees at our “music video production” workshop – lovely!

I checked out a few of the other workshops aswell, and let me tell you, these occations were jam-packed with eager music indusrty faces, Musik och Talang 2011 – 10 points!

The pic above is taken at a “the road to success” workshop where Elin Blom, Redrama and the Linman’s talked about their careers – and let me share this with you, this thing was fantastic and tremendous! Gotta love André Linman’s way of expressing himself.

My Sturm und Drang documentary film task continued today as I checked in on André Linman in a vast garage in the middle of somewhere, together with a rock-engineer the boys were recording some ideas for the upcoming third disc from Sturm und Drang.

After a very long break Sturm und Drang have finally started gigging again, and tomorrow the boys will hit Helsinki, they’ll rock off at D.O.M, a rather new invention – and for sure, your Tage will be there making the night last forever in frames, so do expect at least one insert from my night with Sturm und Drang tomorrow. Since it’s been so long since I last shot the Sturm boys I’m really excited to get this thing portrayed, hopefully we’ll get some v-logs also!

// Tage – Going Drang again!

The week is almost reaching it’s very end. The Tage has spent his whole week in Wasa working at the Sveng.com offices with the film about Sturm und Drang. Been arranging, checking and browsing through about 4 years of footage from the on-going Sturm era, that’s a lotta stuff, as well as shooting some new moving frames with Alex and André – gonna be a great film, that’s a promise!

Last night was spent at the Camp dé Stürm, and here is a shared memory for you – the Linman in his element!

So, been a flashy fast super forward week with loads of events, happenings and bing bangs. And what’s new with the Sturm und Drang story, well, the boys are rehearsing, playing new tunes, bonding, gathering forces and powers, figuring stuff out really, and very soon I believe the boys will be ready to make the third record, gonna be a good one, I can assure you that! About a week ago I attended a small “song writing session” over at the Sturm und Drang band camp. The boys were rehearsing some new songs as well as goofing around in front of the lens. They even gave me a private jam session that included some new tunes, and yes, it sounded awesome! The boys are gonna rock your socks off when their third album is released some time next year.

Also, I recently read in the Waasa local newspaper (Vasabladet) that Jimmy Westerlund, the man behind SuD’s first two discs, is producing the third record – I bet it will be a rockin’ disc I believe! It will sound like, and I’m gonna quote Patrick Linman on this one, “Katy Perry goes metal”! The boys are reaching for a modern metal hard rock and heavy sound! Lookin’ forward to this one!
