For those of you aren’t familiar with the Swedish stand up dude called Aron Flam, I suggest you start finding stuff out. He is quite the funny guy, and a very calm and good performer. I shot a bunch of live ones when he was on tour in Waasa with his buddies Soran Ismail and Fredrik Andersson. The very next day we went on a small promo session with Aron and Sam Jansson. Aron was the face, and Sam was the tag-along all around contact dude who booked his gig. You should read his blog.. ( www.sammen.se ) He is also the man who hired Tage. And why do I speak of myself in third person?

We took these shots at some abandoned house in the Olympia districts of Waasa. I checked out the place the night before and it really looked sealed up, and it was, luckily we found ourselves a way in through a back door.. We hung out in the shut down house for about 20 minutes and then we moved on to some industrial spaces in the Car shop parts of Waasa.. I don’t know what the district is called, but they sell lots of cars..

Before we called it a day we took some snaps at the hotel where Aron was staying. I think the shot above kinda looks like we had a swing by one of the “Sverigebåtarna“, like Cinderella or some shit. But what can you do ey? If it looks like Silja Line, then it looks like Silja Line. Wise words provided to you by the Tage.

And of course I have to give myself a hard time by posting some vertical shots, it’s no fun if it is not difficult. The layout is probably properly fucked up by now. I can’t believe that WordPress actually have such difficulties with me posting vertical shots. Enough with the complaints right..

Anyway. The shot to your right is also captured among the car salesmen of Waasa. With a catchy red building in the background of course. I once learned from a photo teacher that there always has to be something red in the frame, I don’t know if he was right..

But at least the Tage always tries to find something red to throw in the framing. It can be a bottle of lubricant or an apple.

And the session goes on and on.. But now we have returned to the abandoned house again. This shot is my personal favorite I think.. Can’t really explain why, it just is.. Forgive me if I’m somewhat absent in my lyrics, I’m trying to watch the Olympics while I write today’s insert. USA- Switzerland on ice. Moving on to the last shot shall we..? Yes we shall. Enough hockey talk..

And as tomorrow is approaching very fast I’m now getting ready for bed to try and get rid of this Godforsaken cold which was put upon me for some ugly fucking reason. Why do I have to be punished..? ..And now I’ll present to you the twelve best shots from that very evening.. Oh, you don’t know what I’m on about..? Ok, well, there is something called Royal Comedy Club arranged by FTW productions, this was the first of many and the Tage was invited to take some live shots from the evening.

During the evening the audience were able to glance at Aron Flam, Soran Ismail and Fredrik Andersson.. A pack of great stand up artists from our western neighbor country called Sweden. It was a cold Thursday, but still, there was a great amount of eager souls in front of the funny speakers. Way to go for a first club, hopefully FTW will return with more great artists in some weeks from now.. And if you by any chance have the possibility to visit this event, do it.

It all takes place at the Royal Night Club in Wasa, if you don’t know where it is, well, use the awesome Google street view! What more? Uh-hum.. I enjoyed the evening very much and the following day I took a bunch of promo shots of the hilarious Aron Flam, in a few days I’ll post an insert with the promo shots, so stay tuned…

As for now I’ll let the pics do the talking and I’ll mind my own business, which is, a fabulous Paloma Faith concert this evening! No camera though..

Just to be clear about this.. The clock, the clock, it’s evil. I just got home and it’s about 3 in the morning, so don’t expect a full report, but a small one was promised, and here goes.. I will give you a full report on this comedy evening as soon as I have all the shots and takes edited, but as for this evening I will only give you two shots.

I was assigned to shoot some stand up comedy tonight at the Royal Night Club in Vaasa. It was, and still is, a happening with 3 comedians from Sweden. They are out on a small Finland tour, they will hit the big city of Närpes tomorrow, and you who live in Närpes, though I highly doubt that any Närpes’ians is reading my blog, but anyway, if you have the chance to be in Närpes tomorrow, you should definitely go and see this act.

Three Swedish comedians, and very talented ones I might add, are doing a hilarious show. Soran Ismail, Fredrik Andersson and Aron Flam is a pack of funny guys goin’ around telling people funny stuff about the world.

And what else.. hmm. Go see them tomorrow in Närpes and hold on for a full report from today’s gigs  in a week or so. In short, a great show with a great audience, didn’t expect that many faces on a Thursday night, well done Vaasa! The last shot..

// Tage – the very very tired photographer

So tomorrow is a big day for the Tage Rönnqvist Media Corporation, it’s hopefully a hilarious day over at the Royal Comedy Club in Vaasa, Finland. I’m called in by FTW Productions (Stockholm, Sweden) to take some live shots of three different stand up comedians who are doing a small tour of Finland. The guys are Soran Ismail, Fredrik Andersson and Aron Flam. All of this is going down at the Royal Night Club in the city center of Vaasa at 8 pm. So if your in this town, come see the show if you please, I bet you’ll laugh your ass off..

The very next day, Friday that is, I’m gonna shoot some promo shots for Aron Flam. Hopefully all of these backstage-, live- and promo-shots will be grand.. Cause if I manage to pull this one off in a classy manner, I’ll possibly have more stand up shoots coming my way – and hopefully some abroad shoots, now that would be something for my little company!

Today I will give you no pics whatsoever, but tomorrow past midnight CET, when you tune in again, I will probably have some shots posted from the stand up shows, probably, if nothing spectacular occurs… So, wish me luck, and I’ll promise to bring back some awesome shots of some awesome Swedish punks.

Where am I going? I’m going to shop around alot before christmas, today I got several gifts added to santa’s case of hella goods. So what else is new.. Yes, I got myself a new profile picture to my site this fine Saturday evening, the shot is found on the bottom of this insert aswell as on the “contact” page. Vaihtelu virkistää right?

Stand-up, yes, stand-up, fucking stand-up.. Yesterday, or was it the day before that, I don’t know, but anyway.. I got a call from Stockholm, that’s located in Norway right? Or was it Sweden, anyway, a company called FTW Productions ( http://www.ftwproductions.se/ ) called me up, they wanted me to shoot some live shots of different Swedish stand-up comedians who are headed to Finland in February, so it is indeed in a distant future, but I thought I’d share it with you ( at least 11 readers ) now, since I don’t have any new shots to brag about.

Yes, the comedians who I will be shooting are Soran Ismail, Aron Flam and Fredrik Andersson. I’m shooting some live stuff of them all, during their Finland-tour and some promos of the up n’ comin Aron Flam. This will be an interesting case, and I’m told that if I do good in these tasks I’m welcome to Stockholm for some more jobs, so I guess I will have to put in some effort this time..

And in other stand-up news, this upcoming Wednesday I’m going with a few friends to see Eddie Izzard here in Helsinki, yes! Now that’s a funny dude, as you might have noticed I quote him a lot, and that must mean that I fucking like the dude! Very excited to see him live for the first time, it’s a shame he hasn’t called me for some live shots, I could use some shots of him – or is it supposed to be the other way around?
