Well, number one. The upcoming Fredrik Furu video looks really good and we are about to go into the color correcting department any day now. This project has by far been the biggest music video establishment I’ve directed, so I really hope that you viewers out there will enjoy the result, should be up n’ running on the Tube in a bit.

I went to the Ramedus office today for some chitty chatty future planning with the great Rasmus Tåg. We’ve got some cool things and projects going on, more on those later. So that’s that. Yes, the upcoming Walkalone music video project witch I’m doing with Ramedus will be grand..! We went through some ideas and “thinkings” today, gonna attempt to create some pretty fancy and flashy stuff for the Walkalone video, and we are gonna shoot it with a RED camera, so it will be all showy and lovely and all of the other positive adjectives you can think of…

There are a lot of photo projects, video projects, editing projects and even projects-projects in the heat right now, so stuff will for sure occur all the time on this exclusive media site, and hey, I really enjoy telling you all about these things, so keep on keepin’ on right? Yes.

At the moment I’m in Helsinki working with the upcoming reality show called “Farsor”. The thing is gonna air on YLE/FST5 in November. I’m currently doin’ casting interviews all around Finland. So, tomorrow I’ll head for Parainen, Korppoo and Suomen Turku.. So if you’re out there – come n’ have an Ice cream with Tage no?

The tomorrow-trip will be quite long filled with many many “car hours”, so I kindly asked my good man Mike G-Force of Shear and Ponies to Kill to lend my a CD that’ll work for many hours driving. A record that will please my ears for a hella lotta hours. He gave me the Angra album called “Temple of Shadows”. He said that the album had been his mental and physical guide for decades, and he really believed that it would work as my fellow musical company along the roads of Finland – hope he is right.. I’ve never listened to Angra, so we’ll se what becomes of my listening experince!

The shots from the Nibiruan gig held at Tavastia some weeks ago are now polished and publishable. I welcome you to this rocky road of metallic shots. The Nibiruan is a very young metal act in the Finnish heavy jungle, but the members have got years and years of experience in their backpacks from other acts such as Amoral, Elenium, Shear and Omnium Gatherum to name a few.. This gig was the warm-up show before Kiuas entered the stage that particular night!

The video we shot for Coredust to the song Without Disguise is now about 95% finished, and this feels truly nice! Tomorrow we will put in our last touch of knowledge to make the video a bit more edgy. This thing has been in the making now for many days, I think it has been even months since our first video and brainstorming date with Coredust. And now we have finally reached our goal – a finished product.. Well not quite, but almost, any day now…

I had expected the editing of the Coredust video to be a bit more time consuming, but no, we got the thing done in about 2 days.. So that was an excellent surprise! The video looks great and I really look forward to hearing some thoughts, critiques and comments on it when it’s alive n’ kickin’ on Youtube this upcoming Saturday night.

Tomorrow I’ll head back to the Ramedus offices in the afternoon to fix the last effects, gradings, bits and pieces and hopefully we will also get it exported tomorrow… The video premiers at Painobaari in Helsinki, where it was shot some weeks ago, this Saturday at 8PM and you are all welcome to join in. The video will hit Youtube during the same night, don’t know the exact time, but I’ll be sure to post it here as soon as it’s up!

Yes way, today we invited some “first eyes” for the video, among the first watchers was the great guitarist Mike from Shear, and he liked the video, that really made my day – excited as an orange on acid!

// Tage – Coredust

Last week I hung around at Dante’s Highlight with the cam at a rocking metal show.. The bands performing were Shear and Amarantine. In this bloggy insert I’ll give you all the “good” shots from the Shear gig, later on I’ll post all the Amarantine shots…

Most of the shots in this small collection are live frames, but at the bottom you’ll also find some shots taken before the show at the Shear backstage camp. And I should probably mention that this was the first live show Shear ever have pulled off, and let me tell you – they were really good and I hope to see them again and again… And not only I loved the show, the audience seemed to really like what they witnessed. They were really rocking and looking good. They boys are awesome musicians and Alexa has a fantabulous voice. The songs are just incredible and you should definitely try out some of their tunes, found on their myspace.

Shear is a Helsinki-based progressive metal band consisted of six souls. Those are the one’s of Mike, Eerik, Lauri, Lari, Juffi and Alexa.. I’ve worked with the band earlier last fall when I shot their promotional shots. And what more.. I’ll say no more, I’ll let the shots do the talking, cliché people. I hope you’ll enjoy some of these shots and I really hope that I get to frame these boys and girl more than once.. // Tage – The Shear Shooter

Just got home from today’s double gig at Dante’s Highlight in Helsinki. I saw two fabulous acts tonight, Shear and Amarantine. I decided to establish a second Vlog, so now you can listen to the Synth-dude of Shear explaining stuff, this very very short story is filmed about 15 minutes before the show, and this was the very first gig by Shear.. //Tage – The Dante’s Highlight lover

Tomorrow is a big day for Tage, he is returning to the stages with his camera. Yes it is true. It has been some time since I last took some live frames. But tomorrow I’ll continue my live shootings, and I bet it’ll be awesome!

The show to which I’m going is being held at Dante’s Highlight in Helsinki. I have never been to Dante’s so it will be an interesting journey.. I don’t know nothing about their lighting situation and how the overall photo situation will be..  But if you check out their web site it kinda looks promising..

The bands performing tomorrow are Amarantine and Shear. The latter ones have some great tunes and I have even worked with them before, promotional shooting, but I have never seen them gig.. So it will be a very interesting night for me.. Amarantine is a totally new act for me, I’ve tried out some of their songs at their myspace, but my experience of them ends there.. Their music sounds cool and it’ll be great for me to frame some new dudes.

And hey, everyone in Helsinki who reads this, it is a free entrance night. So please join the show, pull my sleeve and I’ll snap some rock shots of you in the audience Whatever. //Tage – New Bands to shoot!

It was just minutes before the clock struck Xmas when I got a really nice gift from my fellow internet. The great synthesizer kid from Shear called Lari Sorvo sent me a message on Facebook that my promotional shot of them is found and published on Blabbermouth.net – one of the world’s largest Metal/News sites, oh my cool Jesus! This is some Christmas Gift I tell ya. Thanks Shear for being great!

To celebrate this thing I poured myself a glass of the cheapest wine I could find and went out in the Streets of Waasa for about 3 minutes to take a Christmas shot for your viewing! Yeah! Now that’s some effort. The shot is taken right about when the clock turned Xmas, so that’s some effort right – I mean, who was Santa supposed to expect when he jibbered down the street holding a crooked dildo infected with malaria in his left hand.. He sure didn’t expect the wrath of my 5D Mark II.. You can see Santa in the pic if you have some wild imaginations..

I don’t hate cats, I love them. Yes I do. And this evening I was called to do one of my career’s biggest jobs, to photograph a cat called Sturm und Drang. It’s the guitarist of Shear and Ponies to Kill who possesses the cat together with his “sambo”, jesus, I don’t know how to translate sambo. The one you live with, ok?

And this time I asked for a huge salary, and I got it, 6 Jaffa cookies and a glas of Pepsi Max!

So I took some shots of the Abessinian cat called Sturm und Drang, and they turned out pretty cool, so I thought I’d write about the shots and post them in my blog pastry! Yiihaa! //Tage – The Dog in the hat

Shear is a Helsinki-based progressive metal band. They have just finished recording their first demo. I got to listen to it last week, and I’ll tell you guys, this is a great band and I see a bright future. The vocalist Alexa Leroux has an angel-like voice which fits perfectly to the raw-powered progressive metal parts. Some catchy tunes and some catchy promotional shots, ey?

The band doesn’t have a homepage yet so I can’t punch you in any direction for more info, but I’ll try to keep you updated as soon as they launch some site or whatever media. Meanwhile, take a peek at their promo pics further down. These are the two best shots from our session, the single-faced pics will be on display on their own website as soon as it develops..
