Alright, a fine Sunday has passed us. And even this day, stuff occurred. Now, together with Ramedus and Fredrik Furu we have come to the conclusion to shoot some more frames for the upcoming Furu video. It’s all going down tomorrow..

Yes, I’m here to talk about today, not tomorrow. We are not gonna shoot strawberries for the Furu video, although it wouldn’t be a bad idea. Well, today I met with Ramedus and Furu to gather some ideas for tomorrow, and during these hours I had some berries for my belly. Who writes about strawberries?

After the strawberry bash we finished up at Strampen with some nice Battery in the sun. What else? Nothing else? Nothing else matters. Ah, you saw that one coming right? Not a great Metallica fan are you? What? I’m all out on stuff to report on..

I tried finding the Hitchcock in Ramedus as he was writing down important stuff on his MacBook, or perhaps he was downloading some pics of old chairs. What? Haven’t you ever tried finding the Hitchcock in someone..? Anyway, I’m “taggad till 1000” over tomorrow’s Furu shoot, we are gonna nail some pretty awesome dolly-shots, I hope..

The work involving the new Fredrik Furu feat. Pauline music video goes on, and it’s gonna be great! Ramedus arrived a couple of days ago in Wasa and we’ve been editing like crazy. The process has been moved from Helsinki to Wasa so that I can manage my documentary job at the same time.. Night time editing!

Yes, as the pic above displays, we got a nice celebrity visit from the man in the video, Fredrik Furu. He is starting to find things to his liking in what we have produced, and that makes us happy! The video is still not ready, well, we have different “completed” versions, but we have not yet managed to complete “the one”..

To get the one version to rule them all, we will perhaps have to do some more shooting over the weekend, so things are definitely moving forward.. We wanna make this thing something spectacular, we wanna make it grand, we wanna get that last finishing touch that makes the video awesome and complete. We’ll see how it goes..!

Where to begin my dear eyes. Well. Tomorrow, as in today, we will begin the shooting of the new Fredrik Furu music video featuring Pauline Kamusewu and Jimmy Westerlund for the Furu’s next single called “Det går över” (Roughly translated – The Rocket scientist and his mad friend Esteban from Jerusalem).

Although I named this show (1/3) we haven’t shot anything just yet. Today was all about pre-producing and getting that final finger up the plan ass.

It all started with a lunch meeting at Strampen in Waasa where we got our shit together, you know, discussing shots, angles (not angels), sequences and everything else camera.

Then it was time for a meeting with the Make up artist Sara Dahlback and the wardrobe woman Pamela Lindqvist. After some hours of fitting canvas we finally agreed on what’s what in the costume and make up department. Just look at the Fredrik how happy that made the man!

Tomorrow Pauline Kamusewu will arrive at the Vasa Airport coming all the way from Malmö, so I’ll finally get to meet her, some hours before the video shoot… Excited. Jimmy Westerlund will arrive on Friday, coming all the way from Los Angeles, so it’s quite the gathering that has been arranged in the big city of Waasa – better make a cool video Tage. Well yes, I’ll do my best and more..!

We went location scouting some more today with Fredrik Furu, checking out some hotel suits, hence the first picture. And yes, it looked awesome and I really believe that this video is gonna be great.

I’ve written about 5 versions of our script now, and I’m beginning to believe in it, strongly. Horses, helicopters, stars, hotels, woods and a touch of Rohan, what can possibly go wrong? Nothing.

And then, all of the sudden the great Ramedus showed up from Helsinki, the cinematographer for the video, as always. We dined and discussed stuff over at Amarillo in the city center of Waasa. He had a burger, I had a Schweppes Ginger Ale, I like to be special. I’m drinking grogivesi.

Anywho, wish us your luck tomorrow, the shoot starts sometime in the evening. But before that there are loads of things going down. A trip to Nyykaabi, a trip to Solf, a trip in my face and a trip to whatever, whole lotta trippin’. No pun intended.

Yesterday we got the final scene shot for the new Cajunga video. It feels kinda weird to grab the last shot like one day before the release. But since the editing pretty much is finished already it’s no probs to add some needed pics to the thing – in fact, it’s healthy!

Yes, the last thing we needed our beloved gorilla to do was to bike around a little. Like you do. We got a lot of looks from different bystanders. Perhaps the black monkey shoulda been doing some guerilla marketing by shouting out “The Cajunga, The Cajunga”.. Or maybe that’d sucked ass.. Banana.

Today we are gonna finish up the editing and head on to the color correcting facilities, so I guess we’re gonna make it! There will be a youtube release on Monday, unless the Ramedus office is struck by a virus lightning or a horde of cucumbers armed with the bows of Minas Tirith. Who knows?

Anyway, I’m headed for the editing board right about now! Keep your fingers crossed? Or a fist in the owen?

We have finally begun the editing of the new Cajunga video for their new single called Dancing with the boys! Today will be the third day of editing, the finished product should be up n’ running on Youtube on Monday – so we are kinda in a hurry. But anyway, I thought I’d share some shots from yesterday with ya…

We shot the video, what, some 2 weeks ago or so.. But we didn’t have the time to shoot all the scenes, so while we are editing we have to shoot some more.. And that’s fun right? So yesterday we shot one of remaining scenes with a little help from the great extras Robán Taugè and Jannica Hägglund. After the shoot we immediately edited the scene and it looked cool.. Really cool! <insert your favourite “awesome” here>.

Well, yesterday grabbed some 14 editing hours out of our lives, and I think that today will offer the same deal. 14 hours of fun times. But yesterday we were also visited by such heroes as Andy Maplefield, Alexis Rennie, Magnum W, Idaho Mountain and Sunny Newhill with her crew, so that definitely makes up for all the hours in front of the screen!

The whole process is going down at the Ramedus offices and right about now the video is somewhat 55% ready. I can’t really share anything more nor less, time to hit the T-shirt and travel to the editing office where the eager Rasmus Tåg is waiting to hit the edit buttons again!

Yet another day of pre-production is in the can. I’m talking about the upcoming Fredrik Furu video to his song “Det går över…” if your a new reader that is. Anyway, today, or shall I say, this morning – me, Ramedus and Fredrik Furu jumped in a furious red Opel and drove to Maxmo to check out one of our locations for the shoot…

When we reached Tottesund in Maxmo we paid a visit to the Tottesund mansion to get some info on the area and stuff like that.. The Furu had earlier already checked out this place so we kinda new it would be awesome from his photos and video clips, and it was! And the people of Tottesund were really helpful and they gladly wanted to help out with stuff.. So, the Tottesund saga definitely continues next week!

After this we steered our phony faces towards Oravais to check out another location.

Well, we check out the Oravais location at a golden field by the sea, and let me speak to you. It was b-e-a utiful. We are heading for a summer-y touch in the video, and I believe that this location in Oravais is quite perfect to getting that particular feeling!

Then we had some meat stew at the ST1 diner in Oravais – which was great! And yes, fun fact, the locals at the diner recognized Mr. Furu, and he got some really positive feedback from the guys!

And hey, on our way home we suddenly found ourselves at the Thoby Loth mansion in Smedsby. Check this cool dude out why don’t ya..

Yes, the man above is Tobias Tåg, the guy behind Thoby Loth, telling us to get the hell outta his house..! And home we went.. This day gave us a great amount of good results and it really feels like we are starting to have this thing under control soon.. Take care now, bye bye then..!

Alright then, I’d better explain the above. After I smeared myself in pineapple cream this fine morning I got a call from Ramedus.. “Lunch in 15 minutes at Strampen – BYO blogging camera”. Right then, so I had to get through the bed to suit race in 10 minutes and get my ass to Strampen at the Wasa shoreline.

Fredrik Furu was hungry and we were about to go through some details for the upcoming video to his next single called “Det går över”. Things were said and all of the sudden I was on my way to Stundars (an old museum/all kinds of stuff/theater/summer yard in Solf) to look at a new renaissance kinda baroque stylish couch that we are gonna need for the video. Props! And I thought I’d take a teeny weeny string bikini shot of the ever so traditional car mirror. I’m 12 again!

So, me and the Furu-meister checked out a cool couch at Stundars and we had a chitty chatty with the good folks over there, and all of the sudden we were in the couch game. The red sofa passed the audition and is very much a part of the next music video now..! Check out the Fredrik Furu sitting in the thing – if you care.

The rest of this day I spent in the Sturm und Drang camp hearing out some new songs and shooting some new frames for you. See them here tomorrow, or today, or however I should put it, it’s late now, so I guess I mean today, if you know what I mean – probably not…

// Tage – The Baroque!

Together with Fredrik Furu we’ve been working quite a lot on his upcoming video already. It is to be shot the 21st of May, so it’s not very far away. And what’s even more cool is that the producer Jimmy Westerlund is to make an appearance in the video also, so I have three stars to deal with.. Nice! The song to which the video is being put together is called “Det Går Över” (It’ll pass) taken from Fredrik’s first solo album Hollywoodhjärtan.

Pauline is a very well known Swedish artist, most guys know her from her hit single “Give me a call”, and recently she participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen with her fabulous song “Sucker for Love”, she has also been working with Bo Kaspers Orkester, namedropping, awesome – I love namedropping!

The video will be shot entirely in Ostrobothnia, at locations like Tottesund, Wasa and Oravais. This is gonna be something special, I can promise you that! As my right hand man the Ramedus is to act as cinematographer for this one once again, and it is to be shot with the 5D accompanied with the lovable video crane.  In case you desired some tech-specs..

// Tage – headed for Turku again

You thought that I wanted to discuss the Norwegian independence day didn’t you, or why Will Smith doesn’t fight with Danish aliens in the Nordic regions. And you were totally wrong!

The 17th of May is now obviously the day that the new Cajunga video “Dancing with the Boys” will air on youtube. I got this piece of news only minutes ago when I spoke to Ramedus, he got a hold of the date from the Cajunga vocalist Oskar Nyman – since the new single is released on this day, then clearly the video will be released the same day. The editing soup is now quite stirred, we have to hurry it up a bit, since we still have a few sequences to shoot with our gorilla, busy times call for desperate gorilla shots..

I love deadlines though, it gives me a “to do” thing and it’s easier to prioritize stuff. Still, the editing will not begin this week since Ramedus is in Ahvenanmaa counting pineapples with Thoby Loth and I have to be in Turku and Waasa the next couple of days. But we will make it, hopefully, I can almost assure you that, maybe.. No, we have to make it! It’s all about hard work, a fine bottle of wine and a massive amount of creative thoughts.

So, now you know. Start counting the days, cause the gorilla is entering the web in 13 days!

We were living in great luck this morning when we steered our cars against the Airfield in Malmi – we got to shoot some material on the runway with our masterful gorilla entering a plane! Thank you Helsinki-Malmi Airport! The video is now filled with really unique and special shots – I can promise you that!

Unfortunately we didn’t have much spare time today, and no one to shoot the production stills.. So I can’t really give you that many frames from this day. But hey, this was the last day of shooting with the band. Yay! Cowabunga! Myself and Ramedus have a few shots to grab before we can sit down at the editing board. So you’ll have to hold your horses a few days or weeks before the video will be released. I really have no idea when it’s due for release, but at least before the summer comes knocking!

The most important shots and sequences are now in the can and we can sit back and enjoy ourselves for a few days. This project has definitely been the biggest music video project I’ve directed, and I believe that it will be a great video! I’ve browsed through all the takes and yes, it’s all editable, and only a few shots are remaining from the whole pack! The Canon EOS 5D Mark Tage has yet again proven itself to be a great camera!
