Just minutes ago I received a DVD in the mail from FTW Productions, Stockholm. Awesome, I seemed to say, and it really was.

I got the brand new Magnus Betnér live stand up DVD featuring his show “Livets ord” with loads of extras and otherwise a great deal of fantabulous content.

But that’s not all folks. Yes way, the cover of the DVD holds seven of my shots, lovely! Check it out..

Earlier this week I went to YLE, the Finnish broadcasting company, to meet with the people behind the children’s show called BUU-klubben.. I had a small documentary-series idea, consisted of 10 episodes for their show. They liked the idea and I got the job.. Cool!

This will probably be the biggest freelance thing I’ve done so far, a whole series you know, it’s gonna take quite some time and effort to pull this one through. And even you can participate in the series! (if you are between the ages 3-8).. … But still, you can be in it!

And really, that is why I’m mentioning this on the blog.. I need participants for the show. Like I mentioned I’m doing the documentary-series for BUU-klubben, a show which rolls like every day on YLE/FST5. My documentary thing will be shown once a week for 10 weeks… In short, the series is about children talking about their pets, their domestic animals, their “livestock”.. And now I kinda need 10 participants with 10 different pets.

I’m currently in the researching stage tryin’ to find these kids, so if you know anyone who has got a pet of any kind, anyone between the ages 3 and 8 who wants to be on the telly, please contact me! There are some rules of course, since the show is in Swedish, the kid has to speak that particular language, and you have to live in Finland.. And that’s about it.

The animals? (you seemed to ask) – well, the weirder the better. If you have a half-ass monkey, well, then you’re definitely in the show… But seriously though, anything goes. Cat, mouse, rat, dog, budgie, parrot, hamster, rabbit, fish tank, lizard, snake, stick insects, spiders, horses, cows or pigs.. Send me an e-mail and I’ll come by or call you with more info! I think I’ll tape the show during the upcoming summer where ever your pets or animals are localized! It doesn’t matter if you live in Harjavalta, Siuntio or Lepplax..

And just about an hour ago or so I got a call from Sammen at FTW Productions in Stockholm, he told me that one of my shots of Aron Flam, the Swedish stand upper, is currently on display at the SVT.se website.. Now that’s cool! SVT is the Swedish broadcasting company – the Swedish YLE.. This is all because of the fact that Aron yesterday took part in the Swedish telly program called Debatt, produced by SVT.. Check it out yes?

Like I told you guys before, Magnus Betnér was an excellent performer and if you by any chance have the possibility to see his show sometime in a vast future, you should most definitely go and witness his performance. He will most likely have an impact on you, he makes a very special imprint on people’s laughter nerves that very few stand uppers are capable of doing.

The story with this shoot then, you seemed to ask, or rather, this photo day, was that FTW Productions in Stockholm called me up asking if I wanted to join a funny day in Wasa smashing off some frames from the Betnérian Finland stay. I gladly accepted and this is the result, in a blog gallery folks! It actually works! Tage does the happy face.

But there wasn’t really that much stuff going on this day before the particular stand up evening, we hung out at the hotel, went for a small dinner, and that was it.. So don’t expect pictures of Betnér talking to any dolphins or tryin’ out apples at the supermarket – this is a very casual set of shots folks… Hope you enjoy it!

// Tage – The stand down?

Yesterday was a cool day, that Magnus Betnér dude was a great performer – one of the best I’ve seen in years. He pulled off a fantastic performance and the laughs coming out from the fully crowded place painted the place with joyous wallpapers. An awesome night.

In case you don’t have the slightest idea of what I’m talking about, well let me brief you very very quickly.. The great Swedish comedian Magnus Betnér know from various tv-shows and performances visited Wasa yesterday with his nearly 2 hour stand up show. I was hired by FTW productions, his booking agency in Stockholm, to take some shots of the Magnus day in Wasa.

In this small publication I won’t give you guys anymore than 2 shots and a video clip, I got home too late yesterday, and I have to leave too early today to find the time to edit a lot of shots from the comic yesterday.. But in a near future I’ll post an insert fully loaded with Betnér screaming at your retina.. Anyway, a shot..? Yes.

The show he pulled off yesterday was a close-to-perfection-kinda-act, he had the audience in his palm of humor and it really felt like the guy was able to say whatever pleased him.. Many parts of this show was not very “housetrained” or how should I put it, it was downright dirty as hell right.. And it was awesome!

The Betnérian stage presence was of a very high class folks. He completely owned the room, kinda like Bruce Dickinson or Till Lindeman style, it was that good.. He has been doing stand up for 12 years, so maybe that has something to do with it..? Haha. I asked him a few minutes before the show if he was nervous – he just looked at me, said nothing..

If you ever get the chance to go see the man, please do, he really is a fantastic performer. He came, he talked and he conquered.

I got some really good news from FTW productions in Stockholm before the weekend. The Tage will be shooting the Magnus Betnér gig in Waasa on the 26th of March. This was really good news. Betnér is a stand up comedian with some really sharp lines. If you don’t know Betnér you can always youtube him or visit his web site…

The gig will be held at Ritz in Waasa and I believe that it has already sold out. I’m gonna do the live shots and an enormous amount of documentary shots from his stay in Waasa. I bet it will be a hilarious day with good laughs and some hip drinks.

…I haven’t been posting any inserts now in several days due to some “graduation matters”, I don’t know any other way to put it.. But as from today I’ll take up the bloggering stuff again. Expect shots and stories. And this very evening I’m headed for the Rammstein gig in Helsinki, unfortunately without my camera.. I’ll just bring the lederhosens.

..And now I’ll present to you the twelve best shots from that very evening.. Oh, you don’t know what I’m on about..? Ok, well, there is something called Royal Comedy Club arranged by FTW productions, this was the first of many and the Tage was invited to take some live shots from the evening.

During the evening the audience were able to glance at Aron Flam, Soran Ismail and Fredrik Andersson.. A pack of great stand up artists from our western neighbor country called Sweden. It was a cold Thursday, but still, there was a great amount of eager souls in front of the funny speakers. Way to go for a first club, hopefully FTW will return with more great artists in some weeks from now.. And if you by any chance have the possibility to visit this event, do it.

It all takes place at the Royal Night Club in Wasa, if you don’t know where it is, well, use the awesome Google street view! What more? Uh-hum.. I enjoyed the evening very much and the following day I took a bunch of promo shots of the hilarious Aron Flam, in a few days I’ll post an insert with the promo shots, so stay tuned…

As for now I’ll let the pics do the talking and I’ll mind my own business, which is, a fabulous Paloma Faith concert this evening! No camera though..

//Tage – the funny shooter

So tomorrow is a big day for the Tage Rönnqvist Media Corporation, it’s hopefully a hilarious day over at the Royal Comedy Club in Vaasa, Finland. I’m called in by FTW Productions (Stockholm, Sweden) to take some live shots of three different stand up comedians who are doing a small tour of Finland. The guys are Soran Ismail, Fredrik Andersson and Aron Flam. All of this is going down at the Royal Night Club in the city center of Vaasa at 8 pm. So if your in this town, come see the show if you please, I bet you’ll laugh your ass off..

The very next day, Friday that is, I’m gonna shoot some promo shots for Aron Flam. Hopefully all of these backstage-, live- and promo-shots will be grand.. Cause if I manage to pull this one off in a classy manner, I’ll possibly have more stand up shoots coming my way – and hopefully some abroad shoots, now that would be something for my little company!

Today I will give you no pics whatsoever, but tomorrow past midnight CET, when you tune in again, I will probably have some shots posted from the stand up shows, probably, if nothing spectacular occurs… So, wish me luck, and I’ll promise to bring back some awesome shots of some awesome Swedish punks.

Where am I going? I’m going to shop around alot before christmas, today I got several gifts added to santa’s case of hella goods. So what else is new.. Yes, I got myself a new profile picture to my site this fine Saturday evening, the shot is found on the bottom of this insert aswell as on the “contact” page. Vaihtelu virkistää right?

Stand-up, yes, stand-up, fucking stand-up.. Yesterday, or was it the day before that, I don’t know, but anyway.. I got a call from Stockholm, that’s located in Norway right? Or was it Sweden, anyway, a company called FTW Productions ( http://www.ftwproductions.se/ ) called me up, they wanted me to shoot some live shots of different Swedish stand-up comedians who are headed to Finland in February, so it is indeed in a distant future, but I thought I’d share it with you ( at least 11 readers ) now, since I don’t have any new shots to brag about.

Yes, the comedians who I will be shooting are Soran Ismail, Aron Flam and Fredrik Andersson. I’m shooting some live stuff of them all, during their Finland-tour and some promos of the up n’ comin Aron Flam. This will be an interesting case, and I’m told that if I do good in these tasks I’m welcome to Stockholm for some more jobs, so I guess I will have to put in some effort this time..

And in other stand-up news, this upcoming Wednesday I’m going with a few friends to see Eddie Izzard here in Helsinki, yes! Now that’s a funny dude, as you might have noticed I quote him a lot, and that must mean that I fucking like the dude! Very excited to see him live for the first time, it’s a shame he hasn’t called me for some live shots, I could use some shots of him – or is it supposed to be the other way around?
