Today I’m here to talk to you about Coredust. A band from Helsinki that gives the world some seriously heavy tunes, and by saying heavy, I don’t really mean heavy metal, more of the super heavy gigantic harsh rock type of music that is found nowhere, except for in the tunes of Coredust, well almost. I really don’t know how to put a label on the music, something between thrashcore, grindcore, hard rock and growling yourself clean? Something like that. Try it for yourself on their myspace (www.myspace.com/coredust) and if you are a “heavy police” you’ll immediately say, well this is that and this kind of music, well sorry, but I didn’t know.. One thing is for sure. They rocked my socks off!

And the shots of course. I took the promos this Tuesday evening, and when I showed up at their base camp I thought that we’d have at least 2-3 hours to take some nice shots, but no, one thing led to another, as they most often do, and suddenly I only had about 25mins to take the shots. But I’m still happy about the results, but I’ll let the band be the judge of that, since I’m only a man, and now a fan.. See what I did there? I played with myself.. No wait, I did a.. A fuck it. And still, my backspace is fucked up so I can’t erase it. I’ll just post another one instead.

What more folks? Well yes. After listening to their songs before I headed to the shoot I somewhat felt a bit afraid of these boys. Well, naturally, big men in black and white who scream their lungs out.. But when I reached the shoot and saw these boys, the feeling turned to joy. They were probably one of the most sympathetic pleasant dudes I met this week. Awesome guys and sure a bunch humorous ones. I love Finland . And when that’s said.. haha.. What else am I going to say? I’ll shut the Jesus up and post a third promo shot..

And I also hear you asking (from afar) why the shots are in black and white, well, the band wanted it that way. And as Brian, Kevin, Nick and OJ (or was that someone else, was his name really OJ?) said. I want it band way..? What the fuck am I on about. An awful BSB-reference gone wrong. But hey, remember my backspace? I should pay attenetion to Pearl Jam‘s (PJ) new shit, is that called Backspacer or what? Jeez. And yes, me and the boys are already in the planning stage of a music video for the band! And that is awesome news. We’re gonna make a somewhat different type of video for Coredust. But more of that in like a month or so..

And I think this is very much it for today, or as Stieg Larsson would have said – “Flickan som lekte med sig själv”.. Ah, Jeez, you just can’t get enough of those ones, or is it the Tage who is, well, a mumbo-jumbo ass. Perhaps.

Where am I going? I’m going to shop around alot before christmas, today I got several gifts added to santa’s case of hella goods. So what else is new.. Yes, I got myself a new profile picture to my site this fine Saturday evening, the shot is found on the bottom of this insert aswell as on the “contact” page. Vaihtelu virkistää right?

Stand-up, yes, stand-up, fucking stand-up.. Yesterday, or was it the day before that, I don’t know, but anyway.. I got a call from Stockholm, that’s located in Norway right? Or was it Sweden, anyway, a company called FTW Productions ( http://www.ftwproductions.se/ ) called me up, they wanted me to shoot some live shots of different Swedish stand-up comedians who are headed to Finland in February, so it is indeed in a distant future, but I thought I’d share it with you ( at least 11 readers ) now, since I don’t have any new shots to brag about.

Yes, the comedians who I will be shooting are Soran Ismail, Aron Flam and Fredrik Andersson. I’m shooting some live stuff of them all, during their Finland-tour and some promos of the up n’ comin Aron Flam. This will be an interesting case, and I’m told that if I do good in these tasks I’m welcome to Stockholm for some more jobs, so I guess I will have to put in some effort this time..

And in other stand-up news, this upcoming Wednesday I’m going with a few friends to see Eddie Izzard here in Helsinki, yes! Now that’s a funny dude, as you might have noticed I quote him a lot, and that must mean that I fucking like the dude! Very excited to see him live for the first time, it’s a shame he hasn’t called me for some live shots, I could use some shots of him – or is it supposed to be the other way around?

Anyway, here goes nothing, my new profile shot!

The news for today is that I’m heading to Lapland tomorrow, to the big city of Ylitornio, I’m going for a roadtrip to find Mr.Lordi, oh well, that was a lie, not the Lapland part, but the Mr.Lordi part. I’m heading to Ylitornio to a small cabin with some friends to see what the wine tastes like in Lapland. I hear it’s quite awesome. 1100 km’s for wine?

So if anyone of you who reads this (if anyone actually reads this crap) have a band in Ylitornio, give me a ring and I’ll take some shots of you. Haha. I’m so funny, I can hear the distant laughter of the Jyväskylä-läinen. Well, I am quite funny, no?

So I’m hoping for a good two days in Lapland with some friends and I even hope to get some landscape shots of the Polar bears and the Zeppelin’s.. Are there Zeppelin’s in Lapland? And why am I calling this thing “Frankie Goes to Lapland”? I’ll tell you. The good shepard André Linman of Sturm und Drang once found a “screw/bolt” behind my back and immediately started to call me Frankie, as in Frankenstein. And there was once a band called Frankie goes to Hollywood, and I thought I’d put those two together, I’m such an ass.

If you don’t see any new bloggin’ for two days, it will be because of the simple fact that DNA mokkula has no functioning power in the alps, or that those guys in the Virtanen band started a ballet school. Anyway, I hope to do some bloggerin’ from the Lap! As in Lap Top? As in Lapland, Top of the finnish maisema? As in what? Screw you.

(One might ask what this has to do with anything, one might ask alot of things, do you see me snoopin’ around in your blog asking questions, well then, thought so..)
