Yes, I will be working at the Sveng.com production facilities during the upcoming months with several documentary projects, and hey, the most important news of them all, I’ll be attending everything and more concerning the Sturm und Drang documentary..! It’s very much alive again! Hopefully we’ll get it finished now..!

I can’t really let you in on what other types of documentary films are on the board yet, but still, my main attention will  be turned to Sturm und Drang. I got this piece of news a few days ago but it took me a while to report on the matter cause of a lot of things..

And since Sturm und Drang are making their third album this summer I’ll be shooting and video taping those guys like several hours a day, so expect loads of blogging from the Sturm camp. Hope you enjoy the band, cause you’re gonna get loads of “inside the studio” and “inside the Sturm summer” stuff!

I have difficulties describing the joy this brings me, a summer of metal once again! Stay online folks!

// Tage – Sturm und Tage

During the past Friday afternoon I had decided to start shooting some more footage of Sturm und Drang for the documentary I’m doing on the band. A lot of thing has happened since I last was shooting them on an everyday basis, so some interviews and a pinch of “on the go” footage had to be shot.

André Linman, the fronter of the act, was the guy who “got” to do a small interview on the things that are occuring around the band. And since I recently bought a set of studio flashes I had to take them with me to the interview so we could snap some frames of André with his new ESP guitar. If you wanna know the exact model of his new 6-stringer I’m afraid I can’t help you. I’m not that into guitars. But if you really wanna know I’ll find out and post it as a comment.

The interview we did was mainly about the upcoming record and stuff about why Henkka Kurkiala quit the band, unfortunately I can’t give away too much details on the stuff that came out, you’ll just have to wait for the film to be ready some day in our future… It’ll be a great documentary, I can at least assure you that.. And since the guys are making their third record during the upcoming summer, the movie will be in the making at least until the next autumn. I know no more of it’s destiny.

..And thanks to this small shoot I’ve now decided that I will bring my studio flashes with me where ever I go. Man, oh man.. Since I’ve never had descent flashes I’ve never known what kind of differences one can get in the shots with good flashes. The style of shooting is somewhat different from my regular shootings, but I’m probably in some flash phase at the moment – I’ll get over it, haha.. And I bet I don’t have the strength to set up the flashes forever, but at least for a small period of time from now.

And since I’m in the beginning of my flash career I’m not quite shure (audio humor) how to use them in a proper manner, so if you, my good reader knows stuff about flashing, please hand in some tips and hints. On the shot above you can analyze how I put up the shoot. Is it grand, or is it totally fucked up? At least I thought the shots looked cool.

Enormous thank you’s goes out to André for doing this shoot. Although it only took about 10 minutes it’s cool of him to model for the Tage for practically no reason at all. I just wanted some shots for my blog. Thanks man!

Getting to the end of this insert now. What should be my end posé? Well I could share some hopes with you. During the upcoming week I will probably spend some more hours at the Studio und Drang so that I can please my readers with more shots from the demo sessions in Waasa.

In the middle of the week I’m heading back to Helsinki so after that you’ll have to wait some weeks for more Sturm und Drang stuff, but loads of other shoots and stuff worth posting is on my board.
