The premier was held some hours ago in Helsinki at Painobaari.. Around 200 people showed up during the night, it was awesome. I’m outta words. We screened the music video 3 times tonight and the audience was really pleased. Then Coredust hit the stage and gave us an awesome rock show.. Thank you all for a fantabulous night!

These shots are collected during our days of editing the video during the past days.. And if you haven’t read anything that I’ve posted earlier, in short, I have done my forth music video in cooperation with Ramedus, Anders Lönnfeldt and Magnus W. The video will hit Youtube this Saturday sometime after midnight. Before that we have arranged a video premier together with the band in Helsinki at Painobaari starting at 8PM this Saturday – and you are very welcome…

And those were the editing days folks.. Now, some hours of waiting, and the video will hit the tube. Until then, keep it real homies! And yes, before all of this is happening I have to go to The Suomen Turku for a rocking Friday night at the Live10 show.. Nice! I’ll post some videos and shots from that event as soon as possible!

The video we shot for Coredust to the song Without Disguise is now about 95% finished, and this feels truly nice! Tomorrow we will put in our last touch of knowledge to make the video a bit more edgy. This thing has been in the making now for many days, I think it has been even months since our first video and brainstorming date with Coredust. And now we have finally reached our goal – a finished product.. Well not quite, but almost, any day now…

I had expected the editing of the Coredust video to be a bit more time consuming, but no, we got the thing done in about 2 days.. So that was an excellent surprise! The video looks great and I really look forward to hearing some thoughts, critiques and comments on it when it’s alive n’ kickin’ on Youtube this upcoming Saturday night.

Tomorrow I’ll head back to the Ramedus offices in the afternoon to fix the last effects, gradings, bits and pieces and hopefully we will also get it exported tomorrow… The video premiers at Painobaari in Helsinki, where it was shot some weeks ago, this Saturday at 8PM and you are all welcome to join in. The video will hit Youtube during the same night, don’t know the exact time, but I’ll be sure to post it here as soon as it’s up!

Yes way, today we invited some “first eyes” for the video, among the first watchers was the great guitarist Mike from Shear, and he liked the video, that really made my day – excited as an orange on acid!

// Tage – Coredust

I got some fabulous news this fine afternoon when I got a call from Esa, the fronter of the band Coredust. He told me that we are gonna arrange a premiere night for the upcoming Coredust video to the song called Without Disguise, which we made last week. A public viewing at Painobaari in the city center of Helsinki!

Of course this was old news to me, but the date is very interesting. I know I told you that we were gonna show you the video in June 2010, but some magic happened and the premier has been moved to the 10th of April at 21.00. This was all grand news and everything, but since my editing partner Ramedus is having cold drinks in Israel at the moment, there will be some manageable difficulties..

After a few calculations we found out that we will have around five days to edit the video, but that shouldn’t be a problem as long as the computers are on our side. Keep your fingers crossed God.

So, whaddaya say folks, wanna come see the video a fine Saturday evening at Painobaari about two weeks from now, of course you wanna – all you have to do is to grab some spare time and show up..! After the video premiere the band will perform a full length show for us! And that is something you don’t wanna miss.

We have finally finished the shooting of the fourth music video. And this was done for the fabulous band called Coredust to their song Without Disguise. Check out some pictures from yesterday when the thing was put into the camera…

This video has been in the planning stage for about 2 months now, and yesterday every idea and concept was finally realized. Although I had expected several misunderstandings and difficulties, like always when doing a project of this size, we encountered about none. And this is actually true – everything went according to the plan – well almost, but still maybe 95% percent. And this was all good news… We spent a good 12 hours in the company of about 18 people, all the extras are missing on the pic above…

I have never pulled off a music video project of this size, and I can’t believe we did it without any difficulties – and with a good result also! When we glanced through the raw material we came to the conclusion that we had succeed. Bloody fantastic. We shot the whole thing with my 5D Mark II using three different lenses, some tripods and a video crane – which was awesome and will be used in all of our upcoming projects, and that’s the truth, we can’t live without the thing anymore! Video crane for the win baby!

And yes, all of the shots in this blog post were shot with Ramedus’ camera Nikon D90, I don’t know exactly who took them, but I guess it was Ramedus, Andy Maplefield and Magnum W.

We even had the pleasure of working with some great extras this day. Even the drummer from Children of Bodom, Jaska Raatikainen, showed up! The pic above displays Jaska and Juuso during a beer-ordering-extras-take. An enormous thanks goes out to these guys – you were great!

Among the other extras were two dancers from Tampere called Tiia Räikkä and Tara Nyman, the car driver Mika from Kovanen car rentals and Pasi Luoma as “the big guy”…

The video was and is directed by Tage, shot by Ramedus, craned by Magnum, lit and “technicated” by Andy, make-up by Sara and what more.. But of course, acted out by the very cool dudes in Coredust. It’ll later be edited by Tage and Ramedus at the Ramedus offices and we’ll probably get some grading expertise from the great Andy “Anders Lönnfeldt” Maplefield.

And probably the most gigantic thank you’s of them all goes out to Painobaari in Helsinki and it’s owner Wequ for all their assistance and help during this whole process! Thank you very very much! ( www.painobaari.fi ).

But obviously there has to be some disturbing news also.. The video will not be uploaded or shown anywhere until the beginning of June 2010. This is all because of the following facts – we are gonna arrange a public viewing for the video at Painobaari where it all went down yesterday. During this premier evening Coredust will perform a whole set and the video will be screened three times. Why not earlier you say? ..Cause the bar was not available any sooner during the weekends. That’s why. But at least we will have something to look forward to for the next 2 months!

More from the video preparations then, as promised – today, very very early this morning we went to the P.Mutasen Elokuvakonepaja to learn how to build and un-build the camera crane of our choice. As I’ve already said, we have not earlier used a crane in our team, so this should be very interesting..

But after this morning’s training session at least I feel much more secure with using a crane, the guys at the rental firm were really helpful and we quickly learned how the crane works.. So it shouldn’t be a very large problem.. And we are not using the crane for too many shots in the video – so that’s comforting.. Comforting? Well, I’m outta words..

And yes, the crane was hella long – haha.. Like 15 meters or something, but still, it took us only about 30 minutes to put it together.. And we even tried shooting some material at the rental station, it looked very cool – but let’s see how it goes.. I’m not promising anything. The thing is, if we like the shots we get with this thing, well then we can never again make a video without the crane.. So is that a good thing – yes way!

I know I promised smiley (Cyrus) shots from the boys, but no can do, the Ramedus just never smiles when a lens is present. Maybe he is afraid of something – probably. The shot is taken with Ramedus’ new lens by Magnum W at the bus stop on our way home.. And the clock, yes the clock.. It was way too early for a morning dude like myself..

And what more, well yes, I have some really alarming news.. The singer of Coredust, the guys for whom we are making the video, has caught the fucking Noro-virus today.. This is really bad news, but hopefully he’ll get better during the 2 remaining days! One can only hope, cause without him, there can’t be no video, it will have to be postponed – now that would be sad! But let’s hope the man gets better!

As I’ve mentioned a few times before, the video Sunday is getting closer by the hour, yet again.. This Sunday it’s time for the making of my fourth music video. Today was yet another day of planning, scheming and figuring things out.

Yes, we went location sniffing today with Rasmus, he hadn’t been to Painobaari at all, where the shoot is goin’ down on Sunday.. But I sense that he liked the place.. We exchanged some words with the owner of the place, Weku, he said that everything was already arranged and that he was really waiting for the shooting day. Cool. Apart from the creative decisions concerning this thing I think that all of the practical arrangements are looking somewhat ready and steady.. And that is very pleasing!

Yes, the picture is flip-flopped.. I thought you’d never notice, but since I mentioned it, you will by now have noticed it right? Flip left? Or perhaps you thought that you knew that the shot was horizontally flipped since the apple now is eaten from the coke side of life.. No commercial intended.

Well, we headed back to the Ramedus offices over att the Arabian Beaches shortly after scouting our way to some creativity drinks.. Or whatever they were or are called. This shit makes hella no sense. No it doesn’t. We had some pasta and suddenly the great Andy Maplefield showed up at the doorstep of Ramedus..

The cool thing about all of this video is that we will probably be a gang of somewhat 15 people doing the video on Sunday, now that sounds freaky.. 15 people in a small restaurant lip-syncing with a camera.. This is by far the biggest music video project I’ve been involved in, and it makes me so very excited.. Hopefully we will pull through and make a great video for the boys of Coredust!

Tomorrow I’ll get up early and head to a video crane building course with Magnum W and Ramedus.. Should be interesting! Take care now, bye bye then!

// Tage – The planner!

Sunday is getting closer by the minute and the music video team is preparing themselves from every possible angle. And for those of you who don’t know what I’m on about, well, this Sunday we are shooting our forth music video, and this time it’s for a band called Coredust.

Today we went to a place called P.Mutasen Elokuvakonepaja to check out a crane and some tripods. We are actually gonna rent some filming tools to get this one done, it’s gonna be hella cool. We are definitely gonna rent the camera crane we checked out today to get som “flight” into our video. I haven’t really got any big time crane experience, but what the hell, we’ll try the crane anyhow…

Tomorrow we’ll have a team sit-down to figure out some schedules and some shot lists, so more of that tomorrow.. Hopefully you, my great reader, will be able to follow the whole video process on my blog, but as for now I haven’t really got anything new to say, but please click the image to get a great look at the boys doing the video, sad enough I took the picture so I couldn’t join forces with the troops. // Tage – Coredust

Together with Ramedus we have got quite a few new music video projects on our “to do lists”.. This is pure awesomeness, keep em’ comin bands and artists – we wanna do stuff!

Sadly not every project is completely agreed on yet so I can’t give away too much detail, but I can at least let you know that we are shooting a second video for The Cajunga. The band has not decided on which song is going to be their second single, but at least we are shooting a video to accompany the second single from their debut album “Dancing with the Boys”.

And yes, during the next Sunday, not tomorrow, we are shooting the Coredust video to the song “Without Disguise”.. The script, the team and the everything else is now around 95% finished. The funny thing is that we are gonna use a few extras for this one, and one of the extras will be Jaska Raatikainen from Children of Bodom – now that’s pretty cool! A big thank you to him for joining the shoot!

The third video is in the early planning stage, but still agreed on from both sides. It’s a music video for the Helsinki-based rock act called Walkalone. We’ll probably shoot that one in May or so.. So everything is kinda infant with that video, but at least it’s gonna go through… Lookin’ forward to it!

And then finally, we have 2 or 3 other videos on the board, but more of those projects later, when I know for sure that Tage and Ramedus will be thier helmers! I think the plan should be to put together one video each month, or is it too ambitious, I think not.. And as for know it’s looking quite allright with the three upcoming videos. So, I’m pretty excited
