Well now, I could really need your help on this one. To make a short story long or whatever.. Last summer me and Ramedus made our first music video for a band called So Long Sisters from Karijoki to their song Behind Empty Eyes. The video was selected winner of the Garage Countdown competition arrange by the Voice late last year, that was a “by the way” fact..

Anyway, we sent the video to some other competitions as well.. And today I got the fabulous news that the video is one out of four semi-finalists at the Yle X kellarivideoraati competition, and we would really like to go through to the finals.. Everyone has a chance to vote for the video right about now, you have three weeks to do it at the following site..

Yle X is a Finnish radio station by the way, and if you hit the show-link you will be able to watch their tv-show where they present the semi-finalists with feedback. The video and the band is “judged” by the popstar Maija Vilkkumaa and the well known Finnish rock act called Apulanta..

I just saw the show and it was awesome for me to observe their professional sayings about the song and the video, you should check it out.. And people, the only thing you have to do is to write down your name and your e-mail and hit the “lähetä”-button, and I will thank you from the bottom of my heart!

If the video wins this competition, well first off I’ll be major-time happy, and the band will get some studio time at one of the Yle studios.. And yes, the directors will be gettin’ an “Yle X package”.. So that’s nice, probably a baseball cap with the Yle X logo and some candy! Who knows..? But seriously though, the girls deserve to win!

I would be ever so thankful and I would really appreciate it if you took the time to vote for So Long Sisters right about now! Thank you! ..And hopefully the video will go through to the finals arranged in May 2010..

How to begin then.. Today at about 01.15 PM I got a call from Göran Dahlgren, the “manager” and father of the band called So Long Sisters ( www.myspace.com/solongsisters ), he told me that we had won the Garage Countdown competition at the Voice’s TV channel! Huu-fucking-ray!

Back in June 2009, me and Ramedus shot a video for So Long Sisters to the song called Behind Empty Eyes (the song is produced by the great Jimmy Westerlund). We sent the video to a competition called Garage Countdown that is mastered by the TV-channel and Radio channel called Voice over here in the nowadays very freezing Jesus-wise crazy shitty cold Finland.

During the long gone autumn people have been able to vote for their favourite “no-record-deal-no-budget-mega-money” video of this autumn of 2009. And about a week ago 10 of the vids were chosen for a gigantic final. Today the grande finale was held at the Voice’s own TV channel, and a jury had chosen the best video of this autumn, and the winner was us! Yeah!

And the prize, I hear an elephant covered in question marks of the past shouting, well the prize is that the band are going to the TV studio for an interview, they are going to play a show later next year hosted by Voice and last but not fucking least, the video is to be shown at least 25 times on the telly during the winter, so it’ll become sort of a repertoir-video (french word for monkey) for some weeks. And Tage says, Awesome!

And just minutes before all of this happened, I got a call from the web magazine called peppar.fi ( www.peppar.fi ), the want to do a small interview with me next week..! And I say, any sort of promotion is for the good, or is it? Well at least this one is..

They are asking me some questions on promotional shooting and future projects, and I’d love to tell them all about it. So hope for the the best during the beginning of next week. It’ll be all “Red Hot Tage Peppar.fi” or something.. And of course I’ll hit you with the link as soon as the thing is done and submitted to the internet.

Noting else this friday night no? This night has been all about video winning celebration and the planning of 2 or 3 upcoming video-shoots! That’s it for now. // Tage – are we human, or are we dancer?

I blogged earlier about mine & Rasmus Tåg’s video for So Long Sisters to their song Behind Empty Eyes. That we had entered a competition called Garage Countdown with our video. Well, now this weeks’ competition is over and we WON. Hallelujah!

And the prize? Well, the video is being shown at the finnish music channel called The Voice this saturday at 16.30 PM. Now these are great news, so great that a webmagazine known as www.peppar.fi called me up today and wanted me to answer some questions about the overall feeling and the competition!

Happy time! Yes it is!

Would you be a darling and check it out! It’s some kind of competition and I want to win! I don’t know what the prize is, but who gives a fuck? I want to win! I had some major problems uploading the video to that site but after days of frustration the video is finally up – God I hate resolutions and “3-lettered” file-endings. Why can’t there be a format called *.web or *.movie … Or even better – no formats at all? Everything fits everything.

So, the video is also found under the video menu, with the right resolution, on the Garage Countdown site the girls are somewhat pressed together looking like sandwiches, and who is to thanks for that? That’s right, the fucking formats and “rules”. And obviously some guys over at the garage countdown site.

The video is for the So Long Sisters song “Behind Empty Eyes” and it is recorded with two JVC HDV cams in June 2009. It was my first music video ever, so forgive me for everything you don’t like  - I will get better… Below you can view a shot of me and Rasmus on the set of the shooting!
