Jacob’s Town

Monday, April 19th, 2010

You thought it was a LOST reference? Well it’s not.

It’s my way of expressing my work area tomorrow, I’m heading to Jakobstad, as in Pietarsaari, as in Jacob’s Town.. Jakkes byyin. And one might easily wonder why I’m going to the beloved land of Korv Görans kebabsås tomorrow..? Or perhaps not, but I’m gonna tell you anyway.

I’m going there to shoot some frames for the Svenskfinlands film magazine called Filmjournalen. We are doin’ an article on film schools in Finland, I’m the photo reporter.. So tomorrow I’ll attend a commercial shoot in Jacob’s Town, some students from Novia’s film program in New Carl Village are doing some form of a commercial over there, and I thought that would be the perfect place for me to collect some “students in action” frames..

Jacob’s Town is located about 100km’s from Wasa so I figured it would be kinda lonely to drive there on my own, so I called in the best driver in Ostrobothnia (insert your favourite Hans Zimmer score music here) - Magnum Bayer. He will act as my assistant, cool man, dude man and designated driver tomorrow.

Wish us luck!
